Mark Peterson joined Edwards as corporate vice president and general counsel in April 2025. With over 30 years of legal experience as a senior in-house and outside counsel, he brings deep expertise in various disciplines, including corporate governance, securities, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, litigation, and risk management across multiple industries.
Before joining Edwards, Peterson was a partner at O’Melveny & Myers LLP, an international law firm, where he specialized in corporate law, securities, mergers, acquisitions, capital raising, and other strategic transactions. During his career, he has served as general counsel for several public and private companies, including Conexant Systems, Targus Group International, and Meade Instruments, where he also held the role of senior vice president and managing director for the company's international operations.
Peterson holds the position of board chair for the USA Volleyball Foundation and serves as a board member for the South Coast Repertory Theatre. Additionally, he is a lecturer for the University of California, Irvine-The Paul Merage School of Business and previously was a member of the board of directors at Meade Instruments.
Peterson earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Brigham Young University and his juris doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
